Finding the right people for a hotel role is hard, and keeping them engaged once they’re hired is even harder. I’ve spent years inside hotel HR departments learning what it takes to build teams that actually stick around and deliver the kind of guest experience that earns five-star reviews.
I’m currently a former hotel HR Coordinator writing about hotel recruitment, onboarding, and team culture, turning what I’ve learned on the floor into practical, no-fluff advice you can actually use.
My hotel HR career spans both boutique and luxury properties. At the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, I supported the full recruitment and onboarding process, including creating job descriptions, screening resumes, coordinating and conducting interviews, and assisting with hiring decisions. I also managed employee onboarding, orientation, and training, and I built a staff recognition program that helped shape an engaged, service-driven culture.
Before that, at Black Rock Oceanfront Resort, I handled everything from new hire orientations to payroll and even relief coverage across resort departments, so I understand how every moving part of a hotel operation fits together.
I enjoy creating environments where employees can thrive. Through effective hiring, onboarding, training, and recognition programs, I help build engaged teams that deliver exceptional service and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
I hold a Creative Writing credential from the University of British Columbia, which shapes how I communicate complex workplace topics in a way that’s clear and actionable.

More About Me:
I believe everyone has a story worth telling, and I love helping people and brands uncover and share theirs through the power of video. When I’m not creating content or helping brands connect with their audiences through social media, I’m usually spending time with my husband and three kids in Vancouver. I’m passionate about advocacy, accessibility, and creating opportunities for children with disabilities to thrive. I also serve as Board Chair of Hope and Healing International, a charity supporting children with disabilities throughout Africa.
